Photoshop 2021 Classroom in a Book now available

Working together with co-author Andrew Faulkner, I have revised the Adobe Photoshop Classroom in a Book for the 2021 release for Adobe Press, and you can now order the book! This is the sixth edition of the Photoshop Classroom in a Book that I’ve updated. A 35% discount code is available later in this article.

The Classroom in a Book series is tutorial-based; you can follow along using downloadable lesson files. Fifteen project-based lessons lead you step-by-step through key Photoshop techniques. You’ll learn how to correct, enhance, and distort digital images, create image composites, and prepare images for print and the web.

Adobe Photoshop 2020 Classroom in a Book

Classroom in a Book focuses on tutorials that provide a foundation for certain key skill sets, so it isn’t a comprehensive reference book about Photoshop. It’s a great book for beginners, or for those who haven’t used Photoshop in a while and need to catch up with how the fundamental Photoshop workflow has changed over the years.

What’s different in this edition?

We updated this edition to be consistent with the changes in the 2021 release of Photoshop that affect fundamental Photoshop workflows, including:

  • Sky Replacement: Easily swap in a new sky from built-in sky presets, or add your own sky images. You can adjust image and sky lightning and color to make them more consistent with each other.
  • Pattern Preview: See a simulation of how a pattern will look when repeated. This live preview updates as you edit it.
  • Neural Filters: Try a completely new set of effects that use models trained by machine learning, providing new possibilities for image manipulation and effects.
  • Camera Raw 13: Learn how to use the completely redesigned user experience in Adobe Camera Raw version 13. Adobe modernized how Camera Raw works and made it more consistent with Adobe Lightroom.
  • Earlier editions included a basic chapter on the 3D features in Photoshop. This chapter was replaced by the new Neural Filters chapter.
